Sebastian Polter is more than happy to get a kick from Nedum Onuoha now and then. The QPR striker reckons it’s toughening him up to the ways of the Championship.

And the forward has told the Rs defender and captain he would go down a storm in the Bundesliga.

Despite coming from the home of the World champions, Polter insists England and Germany could learn from each other - and the way Onuoha plays is one of them.

He said: “It’s more physical and stronger here.

“In Germany, sometimes you have more time on the ball because no one presses you like here.

“It’s more technical there. But I like it in England because it’s always pressing and you get the ball back in five or 10 seconds. Sometimes you can wait up to 15 minutes in Germany.

“England can learn more tactics from Germany and we can learn to be more physical.”

Learning: Sebastian Polter (L)

Polter was bought from Mainz 05 in the summer for a reported £1million as replacement for Bobby Zamora.

Both are forwards, but Polter believes he and Zamora don’t have a whole heap in common, hence the need for a daily dose of Onuoha muscle.

The German said: “I think I’m a different player to Bobby Zamora. I’m not the best at holding the ball, but I work on it every day.

“That’s why I like working with Nedum, because he’s good for me.

“He’s so strong and can play with both feet. I asked him if he wanted to play in the Bundesliga - he would be great there - and he said 'no’: he prefers it in England.”
