Brentford FC boss Andy Scott expects to use pre-season friendlies to tinker with formations rather than oversee a flood of trialists.

He now has most of his squad complete for when they begin at home to Ipswich Town next Friday.

Recent pre-seasons have seen a whole string of wannabee Bees strutt their stuff in hope of landing a contract, with Ricky Shakes and Gary Smith the only real success stories.

But Scott said: "Aside from a couple more additions, I'm really happy with the squad I've got, so I don't expect to play many trialists in the friendlies.

"Obviously we will look at some if they have interested us, but we're not just going to throw loads in for the sake of it.

"You have to consider the disruption it causes in training too if the trialists you have there are not up to the standard you require."
