Cheslea FC boss Scolari is finding the idea of playing matches at Christmas a bit of a shock to the system.

"I asked 'why is this normal?'" he said. "And people told me it was traditional that after the 25th they go to games with their family, or with a child. It's fantastic.

"Tomorrow we have West Brom, and on Sunday we go to Fulham. If the stadiums are full - it's very good. It is normal here, and I need to understand this."

And Scolari is taking nothing for granted for his first trip down the Fulham Road.

"In the many championships I have played in, we have had three or four very good teams; three, four or five who are OK; and five or six who are not so good.

"But here - no. You play against the best teams and the rest and there's no difference: and it's very, very difficult to win. At home and away it's the same - and this is a surprise for me."
