Sam Saunders made his first appearance for nine months in tonight's development game at Crystal Palace.

The Brentford star has been dogged by a knee injury since the win against Port Vale back in January.

Saunders returned to training towards the end of last campaign, only to suffer a setback during pre-season.

However, the 31-year-old resumed full sessions at the club's Jersey Road base earlier this month and played 45 minutes against the Eagles this evening.

Saunders had been in red-hot form prior to his injury and scooped the League One Player of the Month award for December.
