Reports online have emerged saying that Queens Park Rangers could be set to hand Josh Bowler a new contract to try and keep him at the club.

According to West London Sport, the club are ready to offer improved terms on the youngster's existing contract which runs until next summer with the intention of staving off interest from the Premier League, but Get West London understands this is merely speculation at this stage.

Premier League side Everton had an initial bid rejected for the young midfielder, which was promptly followed up with a second bid which remains on the table.

There has been no indication as of yet as to how the club will respond to the new bid, but it is thought that the club would be keen to retain the young talent ahead of the new season.

The 17-year-old made his first team debut on the final day of the season against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
