UWE Rosler admitted his side were punished for their mistakes after Brentford slumped to a 2-0 home defeat against Leyton Orient.

The O's continued their perfect start at Griffin Park to extend their lead over the Bees to 12 points thanks to second-half goals from David Mooney and Shaun Batt.

Brentford controlled the game for long spells before Shaleum Logan's foul on Mooney gifted the visitors the lead from the spot.

And sub Batt wrapped up victory late on when he outpaced the Bees defence to slot past Richard Lee.

“I won't slaughter my players because there's no reason for that,” said Rosler.

“Before it was 1-0 we were the better team and created chances without scoring.

“We looked good up until half-time, but can't afford to make mistakes.

“To concede a penalty from a long ball was disappointing. They didn't have to work for their goal. It was the wrong position from the full-back.

“I thought it was a penalty in real time but when I saw it on TV Shaleum was all over him at first, released him, then Mooney was holding him and went down. It was difficult to see for the ref.”

Rosler brought on Joao Carlos Teixera, Stuart Dallas and Marcello Trotta as the Bees tried to find a way back into the game.

“After the goal we went into panic stations and hit long balls,” added the German.

“We didn't get enough out of Joao. We've got to play to our strengths.”
