Uwe Rosler blasted the Brentford boo-boys after his side came from behind to beat Colchester.

Sections of the Griffin Park crowd called for the manager’s head when the Bees were trailing 1-0.

However, late goals from Marcello Trotta, George Saville and Kadeem Harris saw them win 3-1 - their first home victory since August.

“I am very disappointed with some of our own supporters, who personally I have a lot of time for," said Rosler.

“I show my appreciation to them week in, week out. To sing at 1-0 down that I am getting sacked in morning was out of order.

“Luckily the players made sure that didn't happen.”

Rosler’s decision to take off Adam Forshaw was greeted with a chorus of boos from supporters.

But the German revealed the midfielder had been struggling with illness all week.

He said: "We can't be like an open book - we can't tell our website or journalists before the game that Adam Forshaw was sick on Friday.

“You could see he didn't have the usual energy he normally has to dictate games.

"I had to make substitutions as I saw them today and not what happened in the last two, three or four weeks.

“Adam is one of our best players but I think the sub I made was absolutely right.

“When Sam Saunders and Kadeem Harris came on they gave us an extra boost.

“Overall I don't just want to highlight one or two players but highlight that they all dug in for me and for themselves and they never game up.”

Rosler hailed Brentford's character after a spirited late fightback got their promotion push back on track.

He added: "It was like the old days – a really good fight back.

“We played better from the beginning today, we controlled the game totally.

“I felt we should have taken one or two chances. The Trotta chance was massive.

“But generally we played better football than at Stevenage and that was the aim.

“The players performed with a lot of pressure on them, put on us by both ourselves and the supporters.

“They performed fantastically, coming back again like the old days. It was brilliant to see.”
