A leaked document claim Chelsea paid NOTHING to sign Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco but must stump up a hefty fee to make the move permanent.

The misfiring forward earned a season-long switch to the Premier League champions in the summer despite flopping in England with Manchester United last term.

Falcao has been plagued by injury problems at Stamford Bridge, scoring once in 11 appearances, with his last appearance coming back in October.

It has now emerged, via the Football Leaks website, that the Blues have yet to take a big hit on the player but would need to fork out an eye-watering £38million to retain Falcao’s services.

"It is explicitly agreed that no fee is charged to Chelsea by AS Monaco for the temporary transfer of the player's registration," the document published on the website states.

However, the agreement goes on to reveal that Guus Hiddink’s side must inform Monaco in writing by April 29, 2016, if they wish to take up an option to sign Falcao.

The price, the document claims, has been set at €50million and this would be paid in two installments. The first payment would be made within seven days.

Given the lack of game-time Falcao has enjoyed at Chelsea, it appears incredibly unlikely Roman Abramovich would sanction such a high fee for the shot-shy striker.

Chelsea declined to comment on the reports, put to them by the Press Association.
