Leroy Fer is on his way back to join Swansea City permanently in a £4.75m deal - and end his two-year stint with QPR.

The Dutchman on loan at Swans last season is wanted by the Premier League club, has seen them and Rs agree a transfer fee. The bonus for Hoops is saving around £2m before bonuses on Fer's wages.

To save the maths, that's around £35k-a-week for a player who racked up 48 appearances in hoops, scoring eight times.

Now Rs have to only worry how to shed the last three big earners: Steven Caulker, Sandro and Matt Phillips in order to truly begin the new dawn of prudent spending.

Fer moved to Loftus Road from Norwich City in August 2014, and has been on the Rs shift list for more than a season.

Nearly 12 months ago, a loan to Sunderland fell through when he failed a medical with a knee problem and a move to PSV Eindhoven came to nothing before Swansea took him in February on loan, where he made 11 appearances.
