HARRY Redknapp took encouragement from QPR's battling display after they secured a hard-earned point at Sunderland.
Rangers remain bottom of the table without a win from their opening 14 games after the stalemate at the Stadium of Light.
But new boss Redknapp believes they're going in the right direction after ending a run of three-straight defeats.
He said: "It was a good performance, there were a lot of positives tonight.
"I feel more optimistic than I did on Saturday, I must be honest. I thought tonight was good for us.
"Confidence is key in anything you do. That's the key, I've got to keep encouraging them. It's no good knocking anybody. When you are bottom of the league your confidence is low.”
