HARRY Redknapp wants to sign a defender on loan after Nedum Onuoha was sidelined with a serious hamstring injury.

The QPR star limped out of Wednesday night's goalless draw with Brighton and faces a long spell in the treatment room.

Boss Redknapp has just two fit centre-backs for tomorrow's trip to Yeovil, and is desperate to bring in cover.

Rangers missed out on free agent Chris Baird after he joined Championship rivals Reading .

But Redknapp is working hard to bolster his backline.

"Nedum's got a bad hamstring injury that is going to keep him out long-term,” he said.

“We're looking around for one or two players. We need a central defender and at least one striker.”
