Alan Devonshire has warned Hampton & Richmond Borough fans not to expect a title surge next season following their Play-Off Final defeat.
The only two teams who finished above the Beavers in their first season in Blue Square South - Lewes and Eastbourne Borough - have now been promoted.
And with all four relegated Conference teams being from up north, it is not yet clear who will be 'moved across' from Blue Square North.
But Dev said: "It is certainly a danger that expectations will be very high next season, but that's because we're doing so well. "The fans will expect a title bid, but we should sit back for a minute and remember just how far we've come in a short space of time."
The key to Dev's success this season has been keeping his faith in the squad which worked its way through the Ryman Premier.
He plans to so the same again next season, but is mindful his players may have attracted the attention of bigger clubs through their exploits.
Dev said: "This season has shown we have some very good players, and yes, it may be difficult to hold onto some.
"But if we can keep the squad together and make one or two additions, there's no reason why we can't be up there challenging."
Hampton's first pre-season game will be against a full-strength West Ham side on July 17.
