A SPIRITED second-half display couldn't stop QPR slipping to defeat at Carrow Road.

Rangers were dealt a blow before kick-off when Paddy Kenny was ruled out through injury, and with Brian Murphy also on the treatment table, third choice Radek Cerny started between the sticks.

Things got worse for the R's when they fell behind on 15 minutes, Russell Martin firing home after Rangers failed to clear Andrew Surman's corner.

But the visitors were back on terms just before the hour mark through Luke Young 's second goal in as many matches.

Jamie Mackie burst into the Norwich box, and when his effort bounced back off the post, Young was on hand to slot home the rebound.

However, QPR's hard work was undone as the Canaries bagged the winner 17 minutes from time. Wes Hoolahan sent in a teasing cross for Grant Holt to hammer the ball past Cerny to earn the points.

QPR: Cerny, Young, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Hill (Bothroyd 57), Derry (Buzsaky 78), Faurlin, Traore, Wright-Phillips, Mackie, Helguson.

Subs (not used): Putnins, Orr, Hall, Puncheon.
