Tjaronn Chery believes he has been reasonably consistent since he joined QPR - it’s just that everything around him has changed.
The midfielder brought from Holland’s top flight last summer is already into his third boss, and insists the upheaval has been the real issue - and not him.
The man who cost Rangers a reported £2 million plus scored a fine goal to help Hoops to a 2-0 win over Birmingham at the weekend. Have a look at the action and fans gallery below.
Now Chery thinks it’s payback time when Rs visit MK Dons on Saturday.
“I’ve got to continue my performances and the rest will speak for itself,” he said.
“In the beginning I played every game, but you see two new managers coming in and everybody has to show again. I trained good and played well against Birmingham, but I did so before.
“It’s not different to how I played last week from this week. I think every manager is different and has ideas about the team.”
Chery was aware of recent claims made by the great Johan Cruyff that number 10s where Chery is in his pomp are a thing of the past.
One of football’s icons reckons number 10s are a waste of a good midfielder. Needless to say, his fellow countryman disagrees.
Chery said: “Yes I know (about the Cruyff comments) I just have to show on the pitch, but I was the person between the lines and did well against Birmingham.
“I think next game we’re going to try and do the same, but he (boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink ) has changed the team for other games.”
