QPR might have to be a little bit cute with boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's pressing game tactics amid the hectic Christmas schedule according to Leroy Fer.

Hasselbaink's high-intensity tactic of trying to win the ball higher up the pitch in the style of Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has been a feature of draws against Burnley and Brighton in his first two games in charge at Loftus Road.

Fellow Dutchman Fer is enjoying the physical challenge such a regime poses.

Down, not out: Tendayi Darikwa; of Burnley feels the Fer force

But with four more league fixtures before New Year's Day is out including two in 48 hours Christmas weekend, wanting to press and being able to amid the fatigue of that schedule could be two different things.

"The manager wants high pressure football and likes us to go for it a lot, said Fer."

"So all the training sessions been hard, but that is what we need because there are a lot of matches in December and we must try hard to be ready.

"But you could see at the end of Burnley game we were a bit tired, so maybe we have to adapt a little bit and know when we have to go and press and when not to."

The festive fixtures get under way with tomorrow's trip to Ashton Gate to take on relegation-threatened Bristol City.
