QPR forward Conor Washington says his side are ready to get the season started as they prepare for the season opener against Reading.

The Hoops' August fixtures haven't been particularly kind, but Washington insists that the team need to be confident in their approach to the games.

He said: "There's going to be a lot of games, particularly the first five where we're not going to have as much of the ball as we'd like, and particularly against teams like Reading who'll want to keep the ball and pass it, but we need to be confident in ourselves and our shape, and the break off from that shape to try and hurt teams.

"We're just anxious to get going. We want to get the season started. It's been a long pre-season and I think every footballer around the country is going to be looking forward to that first game."
