QPR defender Steven Caulker is set to make his first league start in nearly a year against former club Cardiff City, as Ian Holloway makes nine changes for the clash at the Cardiff City stadium.

The former-England defender started midweek in the Hoops' 4-1 defeat against west London rivals Brentford, and manager Ian Holloway has seemingly seen enough to allow him to retain his starting position.

Elsewhere, Josh Scowen is passed fit to start in the Welsh capital despite picking up an ankle knock against Hull City last weekend.

Matt Smith is also brought into the starting XI after his goal against the Tigers, while Darnell Furlong also retains his place after the injury to James Perch.

QPR team: Smithies, Furlong, Onuoha, Caulker, Bidwell, Scowen, Luongo, Freeman, Mackie, Washington, Smith.

Subs: Ingram, Robinson, Ngbakoto,Sylla, Lua Lua, Wszolek, Baptiste.
