Yeni N'Gbakoto has endured three weeks of hell - but it looks as if the QPR midfielder is past the worst.

Firstly, his father died, and so the new £1.5 million signing from Metz was allowed compassionate leave.

And then we he returned from the funeral and with all the emotional stress that goes with it, he suffered a groin injury in his very first training session back.

His boss believes the player is past the worst, and admitted it was touch and go whether to put the winger on the bench for the 2-1 win over Fulham at the weekend.

"He has a thigh injury," Hasselbaink said.

"The problem with Yeni is he was doing well, played, and then his father passed away.

"We gave him time off, he then came back. He trained, was OK, but then had to go then for the funeral.

"After the funeral he came back and because he didn’t train as much as before, he got a little problem with his thigh.

"He could have been on the bench, but I would have used him and we don’t know if he feels 100 per cent.

"I don’t want him to pull it anymore and be out for four-five weeks because we have a few other injuries.”

Here's a reminder of what N'Gbakoto can do.
