Junior Hoilett has never been to Wembley – and it might be the only good thing to come out of QPR’s season unless they can get back in the winning groove.

Rangers lost ground on the front two after yesterday’s 3-1 home defeat to Reading, and are now four points behind second place Burnley.

Wembley and the play-offs, daunting as it might be, could end up being the only way back to the Premier League, a possibility the winger views with mixed feelings.

He said: “We conceded two goals against Reading that put us on the back foot.

“One early in the first half and one in the second didn’t do much for the game plan, but there was nothing that could have been done about the third.

“But it’s still positive, and if we win our game in hand we’ll only be a point behind Burnley.

“Nobody wants the play-offs, and everyone wants automatic promotion. We’ll get a longer holiday for a start. But it would be my first time at Wembley, and I sure wouldn’t want to lose there.”

The only other plus was Hoilett’s hamstrings held up over the last couple of games following two set-backs already this season with his legs.

He added: “They felt good against Reading, and hopefully they’ll remain strong.”
