QPR manager Ian Holloway says his side will need to make the most of their possession as they prepare to take on Reading this afternoon.

Speaking in this week's press conference, Holloway discussed the passing style of play which Jaap Stam has instilled in his team, and says his side will have to be ready to capitalise on the counter when they get their chance.

Speaking about Reading, Holloway said: "They'll pass the ball and move it, move it, move it.

They'll want to get the sad defeat at Wembley out their minds, which had to be a gutter, but i know that their manager is a magnificent man. The way he wants to play, the identity he's got and his players know it.

"They're going to get better and better so it's going to be a tough test.

"Undoubtedly they will have the ball, we'll have to get it off them and then counter attack to score.

"Then they'll have to get the ball back, pass the ball about and try and get past us, that's the way he does it.

"We want to stop them doing that and dominate in areas we want to dominate and make more of the ball, because we'll have less of it."

The clash against Reading is the first of many difficult tests in store for QPR this season, but Ian Holloway is insistent that he pays little attention to pre-season predictions.

Speaking of his time in charge of Blackpool when he took them to the Premier League he said: "I have had seasons where I have been told that we’re not going to get ten points, let alone ten wins.

“I take it with a pinch of salt.

"Everything looks how everything looks. It’s down to all of us being proud of what we’re doing and proving everybody wrong.

“We’ve got a long, wonderful, gruelling season ahead of us and I can’t wait to get started.”
