Charlie Austin was a crucial absentee for QPR at Bristol City in the 1-1 draw.

Rs leading scorer was forced out of the game against a struggling Championship side by a hamstring injury - his second of the season to go with an earlier calf problem.

The Rs totem has hit 10 in just 16 appearances, but also missed six games as well as being forced into an unfamiliar sub's role in the last month as he rebuilt fitness.

Update: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Ashton Gate

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink laid bare Austin's latest setback.

“Charlie felt a little tweak and we didn’t want to take a risk," the Rs manager said.

“He will be assessed tomorrow or Monday, then we’ll know more. Hopefully he’ll be back soon.

“We have a squad and you have to trust your squad. You can’t rely on just 11 players in a season – it is about everybody. The people who got a chance today did well.”
