QPR under-23s fell to their first defeat of the season after losing 4-1 at Sheffield Wednesday at Middleswood training ground.
The loss brings to an end a run of five-straight victories, a run which has propelled them into the top two of the Professional Development League Two South.
The Hoops got off to a bad start, conceding two goals in the first half leaving them with a difficult task in the second period.
Paul Hall's side were given hope on 52 minutes when Dan Darbyshire continued his excellent form when he tucked away a cross from Chay Tilt on 52 minutes.
However this hope was short-lived as just a minute the Owls scored a third to extend their lead, before adding a fourth shortly after.
QPR huffed and puffed to get back into the game but will go home disappointed, while hoping to get back to winning ways when they face Watford next week.
