QPR's team to face Southampton will be chosen by three people - caretaker boss Chris Ramsey has revealed.

He, coach Kevin Bond, and Les Ferdinand will mull over the best outfit to extract points from the Saints, but down in the dressing room, it will be Bond and Ramsey calling the shots.

The former Spurs coach joked they would 'fight in the tunnel' if it came down to a disagreement over tactics or subs with Bond, but hinted he will have that final word.

"I know it sounds a bit Kumbayish, but we'll have a collaborative discussion and there shouldn't be any arguments," Ramsey added, referring to the camp fire spiritual famous for its team bonding.

Injury: Joey Barton (R) and Sandro in action at Newcastle before the latter was laid low with a knee problem

The coach deflected questions on the odds-on bet he will assist Tim Sherwood in a new-look management team after Harry Redknapp's departure on Tuesday morning. But admitted ties with the former Spurs boss went deep.

"Tim gave me an opportunity at Tottenham to coach with him, and I'm happy to be here involved in the Premier League. Sitting next to Ronald Koeman (Saints manager) tomorrow will be a proud moment for me and my family," he added.

However, Ramsey did rule out any appearance for midfielder Sandro - still short of match fitness after a knee injury sustained against Newcastle in November.

"He's running again," said Ramsey, "but he needs conditioning work."

Striker Mauro Zarate is an unknown. "I've only been involved with the squad one day," explained Ramsey, but it looks as if the West Ham loanee with only 14 minutes under his belt for Rs so far doesn't figure in plans to escape the drop zone at the expense of Saints with aspirations to a European Champions League spot.
