QPR had a difficult day as both of their sides were beaten by Reading in two behind closed doors friendlies.

Rangers boss Ian Holloway split his teams, as did Royals counterpart Jaap Stam, but it was the Berkshire side who started quicker in both games.

In the QPR 'A' game, Roy Beerens and Ryan East gave Reading a 2-0 lead early in the contest and, while Conor Washington pulled a goal back, it was not enough for Hoops.

Adi Popa gave Reading the lead in game two before 16-year-old Danny Loader grabbed a perfect hat-trick to put QPR in command.

The young forward bagged his fourth and Reading's fifth soon after the break before QPR found something to take home late on.

Reece Grego-Cox made it 5-1 before Charlie Owens struck a well-taken second to give the game a closer feel.
