Conor Washington knows he has a big season ahead of him as he looks to prove himself at QPR.

The striker bagged a brace as Rangers claimed a 4-0 victory in a behind closed doors friendly against Bromley.

Washington has had a difficult 18 months at Loftus Road, bagging just seven goals for the club since joining from Peterborough in January 2016.

He had to wait until October to find the net in the Championship, scoring in QPR's 2-1 win over Fulham.

The Northern Ireland international went on a run of scoring four goals in six games but then went 10 games without finding the net.

Oh, ho happy: Conor Washington (9) is engulfed by his team-mates

And he was glad to make a positive start to the pre-season campaign as he looks to prove his worth to Hoops fans.

“It’s always nice to score as a striker, whether it be in training, the back garden or out here in a friendly,” Washington told the club's official website.

“It’s important and it shows good signs going into the start of the new campaign.

“Towards the back end of last year my goalscoring record was a bit better and I tried to show more of what I am about. It’s a big year for me and I want to show even more of that.”
