Jamie Mackie believes that Ian Holloway's QPR should be judged on next season and not the campaign just gone.
Rangers lost six games in a row on two occasions under the Rs boss and only confirmed their Championship status in the penultimate game.
Mackie told the club's official website: “It is difficult when they come in through the middle of a campaign. You're coming in for a reason. It's rare that a manager leaves when the team are doing well.
“You've got to pick up pieces from before. When the manager came in we had fixtures on Saturday, Monday and the fixture list was crazy.
“I think everyone needs to be judged, particularly the manager, after a full pre-season. You can't implement that through the season.
“We've got a long pre-season and it's a great chance to put things down for a good campaign next season.”
