Massimo Luongo will miss QPR's trip to Derby as he will only arrive back in England on Friday morning after going on international duty with Australia, Rs boss Ian Holloway has confirmed.

The 24-year-old helped the Socceroos to a 2-0 win over the United Arab Emirates as well as drawing 1-1 against Iraq.

However, due to the length of travel back from the other side of the world Luongo will miss the contest against the Rams but will return to the squad against Aston Villa.

Holloway said: “Massimo has a monumental amount of travelling. He's proud to do it but he only gets back in the early hours of Friday morning.

“I will use him on Tuesday but I think it'd be ridiculous to play him Friday. I think he'll be half asleep so I'll leave him out and add him to the squad for Tuesday.”

Pawel Wszolek has shaken off an illness and will be in contention for Friday night's game.
