QPR forward Jamie Mackie says that a draw was a good result following their 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, but is keen to keep their positive start to the season in perspective.
Mackie, who got the opening goal for the Hoops, said that Hillsborough was a tricky place to play and although they’ve had a good start to the season, they need to take things one game at a time.
Speaking after the match, the QPR goalscorer said: “It’s going to be a tough game for whoever comes here. We knew before the game that we’d probably take a point.
“It’s been a good start to the season so let’s see what we can do.
“We’ve got another tough couple of games, so you can never rest on your laurels in the Championship, with us being away at Norwich on Wednesday then at home to Hull, so it doesn’t get any easier but we all know the task ahead.”
The Hoops have been something of a surprise package in the opening matches of the season after many backed them to struggle, but Mackie says they can’t focus on the predictions of the outside world.
He said: “I’m not too focussed on what other people would say, it’s about us and seeing if we can do well but it’s early days.
“We’ve got to build on a couple of good performances. I’m too long in the tooth to listen to predictions, and you can’t predict things in the Championship because anything can happen.
“We’ve just got to keep building on what we’re trying to do.
“We’ve only won two games so we’re just going about our business. Every game is a chance to do well so lets just see what we can do this season.
“We know the task ahead so let’s just try and get a few wins on the board.”
