Alex Smithies has been backed to shine in the Premier League, according to former QPR team-mate Paul Konchesky.
The Rangers goalkeeper has been the club's standout player this season and is likely to sweep the board at the club's end of year awards.
Smithies, who signed a new deal with the club which would keep him in west London until 2020, has still been linked with a move away from Loftus Road in the summer.
Konchesky, speaking exclusively to 888Sport, said: “He’s fantastic and he’s a good lad and quiet man.
“He goes about his business and he’s signed a new contract but there is a lot of talk and ultimately if a club is prepared to pay the money that is football.
“He is a very good keeper who is more than capable of playing at the top level no question about it.”
888Sport believe that Smithies will remain at Loftus Road for the coming season and the Hoops are overwhelming favourites to be the goalkeeper's club by the end of the window, offering odds of 1/3.
Bournemouth are 5/1 to sign Smithies, while Aston Villa and Fulham are priced at 10/1 with Derby at 12/1.
Newcastle, Watford and Crystal Palace are at 13/1 to sign the goalkeeper.
