We continue our review of the QPR squad with a look at the contenders for the left back position this season.

Jake Bidwell

It's been a frustrating season for the former-Everton youngster. An astute signing for West London rivals which hasn't quite been as fruitful as what was first thought. Bidwell gets a lot of stick from the fans, most of which is over-the-top, and it has shown as his confidence has drained over the season.

The 24-year-old has been nothing more than average this season, but hasn't been helped back the lack of width in midfield which often makes him painfully easy to nullify as an attacking threat.

With a slight change of attacking emphasis in the team, I believe Bidwell has the capability to be a big player at Loftus Road next season, as he has certainly shown he is more than capable of being a solid choice at this level.

James Perch

The versatile defender has flattered to deceive this season. Perch made 32 appearances for the club this season, picking up 13 yellow cards and one red during those games. A player who is prone to a wreckless challenge, and likely to be one of the higher earners within the squad, Perch is a player who could be moved on should a better option become available when the transfer window opens.

Bidwell, for me, should be first choice at left-back next season, with Perch their as an adequate back up should the need arise. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if Perch was offloaded this summer with one year remaining.

Transfer movement?

Not a priority. Bidwell has shown in glimpses that he has the capability to be a good left back at this level, and hopefully he shows fans what he is capable of at his best. I could see Perch being offloaded with a replacement at left back possibly being brought in, however it certainly isn't top of the list in terms of priority.
