Richard Dunne isn’t worried despite QPR slumping to their first back-to-back defeats of the season.

Rangers were beaten 2-0 at promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day following a narrow 1-0 loss to pace-setters Leicester City on Saturday.

But ‘Tis the season to be jolly and Dunne says the double blow is nothing more than a blip, with a trip to Watford on Sunday offering the perfect opportunity to put things right.

“Throughout the season everyone will have a difficult period and we’ll hopefully get out of ours really quickly and get back on track, starting from Sunday against Watford,” said the Irish international.

“It’s a perfect game really to turn our bad run around. We’re confident we can turn the run around, and we have to. We’ll make sure that we put in the hard work on the training ground and carry that on out on the pitch.

“It’s been a while since I’ve played at Watford but I know what to expect. It’s a local derby really so I know it’s going to be a tough game.”

After a dominant start to the season, the Rs have found life a little more difficult recently, a fact that Dunne puts down to the negative approach of their opponents in recent games.

He isn’t using this as an excuse though and is demanding more hard work from his team-mates.

“It gets a bit frustrating at times because most games we’ve played recently they just put eleven men behind the ball,” Dunne added.

“I think teams have seen us play a lot now this season and maybe they think that they’ve figured out a way of playing against us now. They all seem to want to sit behind the ball and try and hit us on the break.

“We need to work on a way of breaking them down and create more chances. We need to work harder and be tough to beat again and start grinding results out, whether that be draws or wins.

“We need to push harder and make sure we up our effort.”
