QPR have slashed season ticket prices for 2015-16 that sees £110 knocked off the cheapest seat from last year.

After taking the Premier League plunge, Hoops have reverted to the tariff used in the Championship promotion campaign the season before last.

However, though the cheapest season ticket available to adult holders until June 30 is now £389, it still weighs in as the sixth most expensive entrance compared with figures for the division last season (see table here ).

Charlton fans enjoyed a season-ticket at just £150, while down the road from Hoops at Fulham, the price was still a modest £299, despite the Whites relegation in 2013-14.

It was as well Norwich won promotion via the play-offs on Monday. Canaries fans were hit hardest in the Championship, and had to cough up a cheapest £499.50 for the privilege of watching an ultimately successful campaign.

Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes explained the strategy.

“QPR supporters are a really special group of people and as a board, we are constantly amazed at the lengths they go to in supporting the team,” he told the club’s website.

“As a token of our appreciation, we have decided to freeze Season Ticket prices from the last time we played in the Championship.

“People always talk about the special atmosphere at Loftus Road – we want to make sure our fans can afford to come to the games to help create that.”
