QPR players have been given the green light to rip into one of their own in front of 16,000 fans if they think someone has messed up.

Two weeks ago, Richard Dunne let fly at Benoit Assou-Ekotto when the Spurs loanee failed to shut down Garath McCleary for a stunning Reading third goal that ensured the points headed down the M4.

Everyone at Loftus Road in a 16,522 crowd witnessed the spat, and now, boss Harry Redknapp reckons more of the same from Dunne and co is valid if it shows passion to get the club back on the promotion track, starting against Leeds.

The manager said: “You don’t just all walk away when you concede a goal.

“You can’t say, ‘OK chaps, don’t worry about it.’ You want to see people getting hurt by conceding a goal, and that’s what all the good teams over the years have done.

“Someone wants to know why it happened, and that was Richard Dunne – he wasn’t happy with it.”

Assou-Ekotto was dropped for last week’s defeat at Charlton, with Harry showing no signs of returning the left-back for the Leeds match.

“When you don’t win football matches you make a change,” he added.
