QPR are set to pay a heavy price for their first league point in nine at home to Birmingham with massive question marks hanging over both Jordan Cousins and Sebastian Polter.

Steven Caulker’s leveller secured a draw on a day when the Rs deserved more, but former Charlton man Cousins limped out of the action after just a quarter of an hour with a suspected hamstring strain.

Worse followed when second half substitute Polter, only just returning from a glute injury sustained last month, finished the game limping badly after receiving a kick and was seen leaving Loftus Road on crutches.

“Jordan will be assessed tomorrow on a suspected hamstring strain,” said a club source, but there was no word on damage sustained by Polter.

Both must be considered serious doubts for Rangers’ trip to boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s former club Burton on Tuesday.
