QPR are on the verge of signing Poland international Ariel Borysiuk for £800,000.

According to reports, the 24-year-old is set to undergo a medical later this week and make the switch from Legia Warsaw to west London in time for Hoops first pre-season game against Aldershot Town on July 1.

Ariel is not pronounced like the soap powder but 'Arry-al' with a short 'a.' His surname is pronounced 'Borry-shewk'. So all together now...

What's his best playing position?

Borysiuk favours defensive midfield, but is comfortable anywhere in central midfield, and therefore competition for the likes of Karl Henry and Massimo Luongo.

But he's not the biggest. At 1.78 m, (5ft 8ins) and 70kgs - he will need to withstand the slings and arrows of outrageous Championship fortune - or put more succinctly - the occasional good kicking.

What are his claims to fame?

He was top club Legia Warsaw's youngest ever score at 16 years and 265 days, beating the record of Polish legend Włodzimierz Lubański .

Borysiuk has won one Polish league championship and one Polish equivalent FA Cup win, but more importantly has played 10 times for Poland since 2010.

He's been around the block already

Borysiuk started his career at four-tier hometown side Biała Podlaska near the border with Belarus, and then on to Legia, the top side in Poland, before returning there in January via spells at Lechia Gdansk and German side Kaiserslautern.

He had a new three-and-half year deal at Legia before Rangers stepped in.

What are Polish fans saying?

According to fans website Eurosport.onet.pl - feelings are mixed about how Borysiuk will do in England.

'He is solid if not spectacular,' said one.' Another believed he had good 'qualities' for the Championship, but one punter doesn't see him as a Premier League player of the future.

'If Borysiuk is top flight, then I'm the President of Zimbabwe,' said the less than enamoured fan.
