Karl Henry thinks age is on QPR's side.

Unlike inexperienced teams, plenty in hoops have been around the block enough times to maintain focus, claims the midfield battler.

Rangers face a steep climb out of the bottom three starting at home to Everton on Sunday after a run of four defeats, including a 'capitulation' to Crystal Palace last week, as Henry put it.

But where other younger sides might be weakening at the knees, the 32-year-old believes the other side of a creaking joint or two is a stronger willpower.

He said: “I believe we’re the oldest team in the league so if we’re not short of characters and leaders.

“It’s true the first half at Palace was one to forget. But the last four or five games have been decent without getting the results we needed.”

Everton claimed their first win in first home league win in three months over Newcastle, on Sunday, but it still leaves the Toffees stuck in the bottom seven.

Henry and co want to make sure they remain there on Sunday especially as rivals Aston Villa claimed an unbelievable 4-0 away win at Sunderland that cost ex-Chelsea star Gus Poyet his job.

The Rs midfielder added: “We’re going to have to find someone to get dragged back into it, especially with Villa winning, which we can do, and we’re only a couple of results away.”
