Leroy Fer has been linked with a move back to his native Holland – and the QPR man will have plenty of time to mull over a possible move this weekend.

Reports in his home country suggest Fer, an £8million signing from Norwich City in the summer of 2014, could move back to his first club, Feyenoord, on loan in January.

Fer started his career with the Rotterdam side, coming through their ranks and making more than 100 appearances before arriving in England via a spell at FC Twente.

But any such move could depend on Feyenoord being able to move on fellow midfielder Tonny Vilhena during the transfer window.

Fer, who has 11 Dutch international caps, was a regular for the Rs last season as they were relegated from the Premier League, but has been restricted to eight appearances this term.

He was sent off late on in the 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough on Friday night which saw the Rs slip to 15 in the Championship table, and will sit out this Saturday's home game against Leeds.
