Ian Holloway is a passionate and emotional character when fans see him on television or on the touchline but Joel Lynch believes that he's 10 times that in person.

The QPR boss is a fans' favourite at Loftus Road and he has brought smiles back to the faces of Rangers fans.

And Lynch believes Holloway's desire to succeed at QPR has rubbed off on the squad, keeping them laughing while also working seriously on the job at hand.

He said: “I think he's times 10 in person. That's the way he is. His emotion and passion is starting to rub off.

“He's changed the club and people are starting to be more positive about QPR. He gets us laughing a lot.

Plenty of bottle: Ian Holloway

“He's non stop. You can't tell what mood he'd be in. I'm not sure what his wife is like because I'm guessing he falls asleep in his armchair.

“He's got so much energy, he scares me. It's positive for everyone.”

Holloway has improved Lynch on the training ground and the defender feels he's better for his work with the QPR boss.

He added: “I think, on a personal level, it's about staying fit and getting fitter. I might not have been fit enough and that's caused me to have injuries.

“If you look at the games I've played I've not had a steady season. The manager and taught me and helped me with my training schedules and it's kept me fit for games.

“The only way I can improve and be a better player is to get as fit as I can be.”
