QPR full back Michael Petrasso helped Canada claim a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica in their Gold Cup clash with Texas.

The 22-year-old, born in Toronto, made his fourth appearance for the Canucks and his side took the lead on 26 minutes when Alphonoso Davies put the ball in the net from Scott Arfield's cross.

However, Francisco Calvo levelled the scores three minutes before half time and neither side were able to find a winner in the second 45 minutes.

Canada top their group after two games, sitting on four points, and they take on Honduras on Friday night local time (Saturday 3am BST).

Petrasso has made 11 Championship appearances for QPR and has had loan spells at Oldham, Coventry, Leyton Orient as well as Notts County.

He made just four appearances in all competitions for Ian Holloway's side over the course of last season.
