Striker Kevin Doyle has almost certainly played his last game for QPR.

The Wolves loanee has returned to Molineux for repair to damaged knee ligaments as Rangers boss Harry Redknapp explained.

He added: “Kevin’s long term and he’s gone back to Wolves. I couldn’t say how long, but it’s certainly going to be six weeks or so.

"Yeah, it’s likely to be the end of the season – it’s a long job.”

The Irish international joined Rs in the January transfer window, scoring on his debut against high-flying Burnley, and added another against Reading before he was hurt in the 2-0 win at Birmingham at the beginning of the month.

Rangers are already counting the cost of losing leading scorer Charlie Austin to a shoulder injury.
