The horrific shoulder injury to Jake Bidwell in the 1-1 draw at Burton last night has left QPR's boss with little choice as he gears up to face derby rivals Fulham on Saturday.

There might have been a worse spot where Rangers would struggle to plug a gap - right-back, perhaps?

But James Perch is struggling with a knee injury, and Jack Robinson is out for an indefinite period - so it comes down to one from two at Craven Cottage with only two full games behind them this season.

Joel Lynch was previously struggling with his own problems, and academy graduate Niko Hämäläinen has only 90 minutes against Sunderland in the EFL Cup behind him.

Down and out: Jake Bidwell

Rs head coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink admitted the 19-year-old wilted towards the end of the Black Cats tie, but the teenager will almost certainly be on the bench at the Cottage.

That leaves Lynch, a centre-back by trade, but his left-sided leanings was a reason for Rangers forking out £1.2m to secure him in the summer.

Apart from the Sunderland tie where he was on from start to finish, Lynch has failed to complete a game, and got only nine minutes at Burton as replacement for the stricken Bidwell.
