Most people get 15 minutes of fame. Rob Green reckoned he had to settle for 15 seconds on Saturday.
Actually, it was a mere 11 seconds after the QPR keeper made a startling one-handed save from Hull’s Dame N'Doye in the 89th minute. It amounted to nothing when he was beaten by N'Doye an instant later for what turned out to be the Hull winner.
Rangers not only levelled through Charlie Austin, the 10 men held their own until the final gut-wrencher from N'Doye.
“The joys of being a keeper were encapsulated in that, what, 15 seconds?” reflected Green.
“It was frustrating; but that’s life – and that’s football. “We have to pick ourselves up and get on with it.
“Up until the 89th minute I didn’t make a save. They threw themselves at us, but we had men all over the place.
“You have to be mortified at losing 2-1 – that’s how well we played.
“Now we still need two back to back to wins and with two London derbies next.”
