From football’s greatest stage to the humble surrounds of Leyton Orient awaits Loic Remy and Julio Cesar.

Should both France and Brazil exit the World Cup tonight, Rangers insist striker and keeper return to the club for pre-season training in just three weeks.

In fact, highly placed sources insist Remy’s move to Arsenal is far from a done deal.

The French forward, so far only an 11-minute sub in Brazil, is expected to move to The Emirates when boss Arsene Wenger triggers a £10m clause in Remy’s contract.

However, Get West London Sport has discovered no one at Arsenal has set any wheels in motion.

French leave: and then a QPR return for Remy

Cesar was Brazil’s hero in a penalty shoot-out wiith Chile in the round of 16, but when the keeper was loaned to FC Toronto in February, it was mere confirmation he had no future under boss Harry Redknapp.

Both players will go on holiday if their teams are beaten by Germany and Colombia respectively in tonight's quarter finals, but will be back in time to face the away friendly at Orient on July 29.

A source said: “They are paid employees, and they must return to their place of work.”
