By the end of a spirited defeat to Liverpool - QPR were left without four players that added to their injury woes.

Nedum Onuoha pulled a first-half hamstring that saw him replaced after the break by Matt Phillips, and Sandro picked up a groin strain as Rangers battled manfully against the Reds in a 3-2 reverse.

The manager revealed Rio Ferdinand had a troubled groin that restricted his afternoon to the bench, while Rob Green was suffering with tonsillitis and made way for Alex McCarthy's debut in goal.

Rangers are already without long-term absentees Jordon Mutch and Joey Barton while another sub, Niko Kranjcar, was willing to play with a broken toe.

"We had to reorganise after the injuries," said Redknapp, "but we showed spirit and were magnificent."
