KASPARS Gorkss has begun talks over a new deal at QPR.

The Latvian still a year to run on his contract at Loftus Road, but boss Neil Warnock is keen to keep him at the club.

However, the Rangers chief is in no rush to iron out new terms following Matt Connolly 's surprise extension this week.

He said: “The truth is these talks have been going on for a bit, and I figured they might go on a while longer – but Matt’s people agreed and we’re delighted.

“There’s also been bits of talks with Ali Faurlin, Damion Stewart and Kaspars Gorkks – but we’re being careful with deals these days and we’re going to spend wisely before agreeing anything."
