DAMION Stewart has had a lucky escape after his clash of heads with Calvin Andrew landed him in hospital.

The Jamaican defender suffered a skull fracture just three seconds into Saturday's clash at Crystal Palace .

But he is ‘stable’ in a private hospital ahead of further tests today.

Physio Paul Hunter told the QPR website: “I am pleased to report the bleeding into the brain has stopped, but we will continue to monitor his status on an hourly basis.

"Damion has shown normal neurological signs throughout, which is very reassuring.”
