The forward's contract expires at the end of June, although the club have the option to trigger a one-year extension to the deal.

According to Football League World's Twitter page, Mackie was said to be poised to extend his stay at the club, but this is is yet to be confirmed.

The 31-year-old, who made 19 appearances for the club last season, was signed on a two-year deal from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015.

Speaking in March, manager Ian Holloway said he was keen to see the front-man extend his stay.

He said: "Of course, Jamie Mackie is someone I want to have with me next season.

“Jamie is an absolutely fantastic fella and I’m really enjoying working with him. I don’t want to lose anybody."

Mackie is one of a number of players out of contract at the club this summer, and it remains to be seen who the club will look to retain for the upcoming season.
