QPR's head coach thinks Jamie Mackie could be out for some time with a second hamstring injury of the season.

The Rangers forward missed more than three months of the season with a hamstring problem after a bad tug in the 4-0 defeat at Fulham in September, and went off in the 24th minute of the 1-1 draw at Leeds.

Hasselbaink said: “He’s got a hamstring problem and I hope it won’t be too bad, but it doesn’t look good. It’s something we’ll have to assess in the next 48 hours.

“Jamie is someone who would never want to come off. He will play through pain and if he has to come off it’s normally something not good.”

Tjaronn Chery’s 10th goal of the season and sixth in the number 10's last nine matches earned a point for Hoops at Elland Road.

But it was touch and go after Hoops gave rookie 19-year-old keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell an easy ride before Chris Wood put Leeds ahead on 70 minutes.

But Chery tucked away an 87th-minute penalty after fellow substitute Sebastian Polter had cleverly drawn a foul in the box.

"I was quite disappointed that we didn’t test their keeper, because he was a young boy,” Hasselbaink added.

“In the second half it opened up a bit and I always felt that we were going to finish stronger than them.

“We finished the stronger side, but we should have taken the initiative earlier.”
