QPR have failed in their appeal to have Nedum Onuoha's one match ban overturned by the FA.
The Rangers captain was dismissed by Keith Stroud in the 3-0 defeat at Brighton for bringing down Sam Baldock.
The decision to brandish the red card seemed harsh but the FA did not have enough evidence to warrant overturning the sanction.
"The QPR captain was shown a straight red card following a challenge with Sam Baldock in the 56th minute of the game at the Amex Stadium.
"The FA’s decision to uphold the dismissal means Onuoha will be suspended for QPR’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday."
Rangers will be hoping that Joel Lynch has recovered from an injury that caused him to miss the loss at the Amex.
“With Nedum out, if Lynchy isn’t fit again then I haven’t got a back four – literally I haven’t got a back four,” Holloway said after the game.
“I had to move Perchy over when Nedum went off and I’m putting a 19-year-old (Osman Kakay) in at right-back who hasn’t played before. It’s a bit much.”
