Karl Henry has triggered a one-year deal that sees the popular midfielder stick with QPR.

The former Wolves player could have exercised his right to move on, but has decided to remain at Loftus Road, despite relegation from the Premier League last term.

When asked by Getwestlondonfor a reaction to the news, QPR insisted it was good for both player and club.

"He brings character, hard work and his presence along with the likes of Clint Hill in the changing room will bring stability to the club."

The 32-year-old has made a career total 481 appearances, including a surprise 35 for Hoops last season when as he put it: he was ‘determined to make up for lost time’ on the season before in the Championship when he was restricted to just 29.
